An increasing number of pop-up pool parties in an HOA is causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. And residents understandably feel concerned and angered.

Nuisance Due to Pop-Up Pool Parties in HOA

The Natomas Meadows community sits near Del Paso Road and Gateway Park Boulevard. It is normally a peaceful neighborhood, but recent events are causing frustrations among its residents.

According to some of the people living there, the Natomas Meadows HOA has been seeing large gatherings of teenagers as of late. Pool parties are a common fixture in the summer season. However, these pop-up pool parties in the HOA community have become a nuisance source.

Resident Jeremy Brandon expressed his concerns to local news. Brandon lives near the pool and says it has been noisy, and the teens have been leaving trash everywhere. A recent gun robbery has also caused him to worry.

“They’d kind of just hang out late at night until 11 o’clock, basically until it became uncomfortable for everyone around,” Brandon said. “The biggest concern is just them not giving respect for the people who do live here and kind of ruining it for everyone else.”

Residents Turn to Police, No Positive Results

According to Brandon, police have responded to calls for assistance over the past few weeks. However, this did not amount to anything, as the parties continued.

“We’re noticing that underage teens are taking over communities and damaging our pool furniture and leaving broken glass,” another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said. “The worst-case scenario that I saw was at least 250 teens in that community center at the pool.”

Residents reported the pool parties to the homeowners association. On July 17, the HOA sent an email to homeowners. The email informed them that the association was “taking necessary steps to investigate and move to resolve these issues.”

A week later, the HOA sent out another email. The email detailed the association’s plan to curb the nuisance, which included closing the pool every night and padlocking the doors. The association also planned to post pool rules in the area and work on additional security changes.

Moreover, the Sacramento Police Department is working closely with the HOA and other communities as neighborhoods see increasing such parties.

Residents are hopeful this will lead to positive change.
