Also, check if your HOA has any rules about reporting aggressive pets. Some HOAs require owners to register their dogs, and if it happens again, they might be forced to remove the dog from the property. But legally, the bite falls on the neighbor, not the HOA.

Just a suggestion. Consider labeling the parking spaces at the curb using lot numbers, such as RSVD011 for lot 11. This method might not be immediately apparent to everyone, as many residents may not be familiar with the lot numbers.

I think it depends on how big your community is. Shop around and ask for quotes from a bunch of companies first. You’ll get a good ballpark figure from those proposals.

Does your board try to keep these homeowners updated on the issues surrounding your home owners’ association? That would be a good solution so that they can make informed votes. I know it can be frustrating, but they are still homeowners (as peoniesforme said), so they still have a right to vote.

In that case, I think your board is in the clear. If you want to place a limit, you might want to consider petitioning to amend your declaration.

I’m from Ohio as well and as far as I know HOAs here can increase dues without a membership vote BUT your declaration might have a limit on assessment increases. Worth checking it out
