I own a condo unit in Iowa. My HOA has a complaint system where we can submit our complaints but I have not received any response. I have been contacting them for over a week now. It is frustrating not to have a properly working plumbing system!

That said, you should check your declaration and site map to see if your condo association is truly responsible for repairing the plumbing. Perhaps it is a responsibility that unit owners have? If you don’t know, you can ask your condo board. If they won’t reply to your complaints, try to look for them in person or attend a board meeting. This way, you can approach them personally. You also likely have a building manager or condo manager that you can ask for help.

If you can’t wait just have the plumbing fixed yourself and then bill your HOA afterward for reimbursement

What arnie920 said only works if your condo association is really responsible for plumbing maintenance and repairs. Otherwise, you’ll have to foot the bill yourself. Have you looked into your insurance policy? It might cover it depending on the damage and source.
