We have a unique situation where the HOA has put up a No Parking Sign at one of their spaces. This is due to the angle at which the space is located, our waste management company cannot maneuver safely their truck if a vehicle is parked there. So the HOA erected a “No Parking Sign” with added verbiage of – “Towing Enforced.” A member of the Association has stated at a Board meeting that unless we have additional information on the sign, such as who the towing company is, how to contact them, etc, the sign is “illegal” and needs to be taken down. Is this correct? As a Board, we are not trying to break any laws, want to keep people’s vehicles safe. We were thinking sign this is private property – or located in the common area of the association that the sign can stay. Any advice?

If your HOA owns the parking space, then it certainly can put the no parking sign there.

I agree with Craig. But if your members are making it difficult, you can just send out a newsletter or email blast containing the information of your towing company. It won’t take much work anyway.
