Our HOA board voted to switch management companies, but the current one is dragging its feet and refusing to hand over documents. We’ve requested financial records, vendor contracts, and owner ledgers, but they keep delaying. Has anyone dealt with this before? What can we do?

This is unfortunately common. Some management companies don’t want to let go and make the transition difficult. You may need legal action to force compliance.

Check your state’s laws. Many require HOAs to turn over records within a certain timeframe. If they refuse, you might have grounds to escalate it legally.

Been there. We had to threaten to withhold their final payment before they handed over everything. Stand firm and don’t let them push you around.
