Our community has a large stone wall on one side of a pool area. The replacement value for the wall is over $1.5 million. It is unlikely that anything would happen to this wall, however, should the HOA insure it for its replacement value?

I suggest asking for a higher insurance deductible since it is unlikely the wall be damaged. At least less risk than buildings experiencing flooding or fire damage.

    Hi,

Yes, I think the HOA should consider insuring the wall for its replacement value, especially given its high replacement cost of over $1.5 million. While it may seem unlikely that something would happen to the wall, insuring it provides financial protection against unforeseen risks.

You should also consider checking on your reserves and making sure it’s up to snuff.

    Hope this helps.
