Our HOA board has been having private meetings after the public meetings and its suspicious. I feel like their hiding something from us owners. Is this legal???
It is normal for boards to meet in private to discuss sensitive issues. Unless you have evidence that they are doing something illegal, I think you should calm down and trust your board.
It just sounds like your board is doing its job. Don’t worry too much. But if you really wanna make sure, check your state laws and bylaws to see if executive sessions are permitted.
Ask for minutes of the meetings. Check the HOA rules to see what is required as far as votes to pass anything requiring spending money such as special assessments then ask for financial statements.
