Governor Ron DeSantis recently announced the appointment of four people to the Regulatory Council of Community Association Managers. The four appointees are Robyn Barineau, Deborah Bell, Gary Pyott, and Dawn Warren.
Robyn Barineau is the former Bureau Chief of Education and Testing at the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Before that, Barineau served as the Deputy Director of the Division of Regulation. She attended Tallahassee Community College.
Deborah Bell is currently a Community Association Manager for Powerhouse Executives, Inc. Previously, she was a member of the Community Associations Institute’s Education Committee and the National Green Building Institute’s Testing Subcommittee. She attended the State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota.
Gary Pyott is the owner and president of Association 1st, LLC, and a partner at Campbell Property Services South Florida. He is also currently a member of the Community Associations Institute. He graduated from St. Thomas University with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration.
Dawn Warren is a Community Association Manager for Lake Tyler Condominiums and Altamonte Heights Condominiums. She has over 20 years of experience working in the community associations management industry. She is the former Chair of this board. Beyond that, she has also served on the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board.
The Regulatory Council of Community Association Managers regulates the licensure of community association managers in Florida. Most of the time, community association managers in the Sunshine State must carry a license to perform their duties and responsibilities.
The Regulatory Council’s job is to review, assess, and advise Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation on recommendations for changes to relevant laws, rules, licensure education and examinations, and standards of conduct.
These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
