Can a HOA President can exceed power abuse against another board member?

Board members have a fiduciary duty to act within the scope of their authority, and that includes the HOA President. They are not allowed to exceed the authority set by the laws in their state or their bylaws/CC&Rs. A board member who abuses their power can find themselves in legal trouble. It can also create liability for the rest of the board and the HOA itself. As such, it is important for board members to understand the limitations of their authority.
