Question:
I live in a mobile home park, where I own the home but pay HOA fees for land/maintenance. Can I legally obtain 1) what these fees are being used for, 2) how much was collected in 2022 and 3) how much used for what in the last couple years as well as 4) what increases in 2023 fees will provide?
Thanks…
– Lucie
Answer:
Hi Lucie,
You can request to inspect your association’s financial records, including a copy of the HOA’s statement of income and expense. This report should tell you what expenses the HOA paid for and how much it collected in revenue. Reports are usually done on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. As for what this year’s increases will provide, your HOA should have a copy of the annual budget as well.
