Question:
Hi. I am in the process of purchasing a property that is listed as a condo; however: the selling agent is stating there is no HOA. This is becoming an issue as when attempting to get homeowners insurance no one seems to know who is responsible for the exterior of the property as well as the land. Do you have any advice on how to handle this?
– Nicole
Answer:
Hi Nicole,
Most condominiums have condo associations. If you doubt the selling agent’s words, you should ask the seller directly or any neighbors within the same condo. You can also check the local county records to see if the condo has filed any governing documents.
