– Trina
Answer:
Hi Trina,
According to the Indiana Homeowners Associations Act Section 32-25.5-3-3(g)(1), homeowners may submit a written request to inspect the HOA’s financial records, as shown below:
“(g) Subject to subsection (k):
(1) the financial records, including all contracts, invoices, bills, receipts, and bank records, of a homeowners association must be available for inspection by each member of the homeowners association upon written request; and”
But, this is limited by Section 32-25.5-3-3(k)(5), as the requested records can be no more than two years old, as shown below:
“(k) A homeowners association is not required to make available to a member for inspection any of the following:…(5) Any records that were created more than two (2) years before the request.”
