Question:
In an HOA condo assoc.Illinois I wrote a “vote for me” note and taped them to 48 unit owners doors.: A Board member took them down and said that was against the rules to do. I thought that was considered freedom of speech. She is also re-running for the board. Thanks

Answer:
Hi Carol,
You should check your governing documents to see what types of campaigning are allowed in your association. Posting a note on your neighbors’ doors may not be allowed because it is against the HOA’s rules on elections, sign displays, and architectural standards.
