Question:
The By-Laws of our communities HOA state that any member can have access to the minutes and other paperwork by sending a certified letter requesting to view them, we did and when given access to the room they were kept in the boxes were empty. The president has no idea where all the minutes are. What can we do ?
access to these records is needed to clear up a dispute pertaining to a committee that was granted autonomy and separate jurisdiction from this HOA several years ago..

Answer:
Hi Maryann,
Unfortunately, only your HOA can answer this. Perhaps you can ask former board members or your HOA management company where the minutes of the meetings are kept. They may know where the physical records are kept or have access to electronic records.
