Question:
How much can a HOA management company raise their fees or should raise their fees? We have a management company that raised their fees by 10% after the first year and we are only a 50 unit detached houses HOA. We all take care of our own homes except the common area.
We think the management company raised their fee too much at 10%
Can we dispute their increase?

Answer:
Hi Joe,
Make sure to check your management contract with the company. The contract should tell you the fee schedule of the agreement and any potential increases. If the contract does not stipulate an increase, you may be able to contest it. If the increase is valid and is out of your budget, consider switching to a different management company.
