I have requested from my HOA to see invoices and or receipts for their expenses. They told me by law they do not have to provide that to me.

Section 5316 of the Pennsylvania Uniform Planned Community Act gives homeowners the right to examine the financial records of the association. Your governing documents may contain similar requirements.
