Question:
Is there a way to abolish an HOA? Our HOA. Collects fees but doesn’t enforce any of the HOA rules and are not even contactable. Many people in my neighborhood have expressed abolishing this HOA but we don’t know how to especially when there’s no person or number to contact.

Answer:
Hi Alaina,
Typically, to dissolve an HOA in Oregon, you would need to call an association meeting and vote on the decision to dissolve the association. If approved, the members who agree to the dissolution must sign the termination agreement. The HOA would then need to settle any debts, dispose of its assets, and file the necessary documents with the Secretary of State.
