HOA Not Doing Anything About Rowdy Kids

Question:

I have an issue with children in the community removing my property destroying, entering my house, harassment, banging on my house, bouncing balls off the back of my car, throwing firecrackers in my HVAC system and many other destructive acts. I have complained numerous times, but the HOA turns a blind eye to my complaints. What action do i need to take if any grounds?

Answer:

Hi Kathy,

Perhaps it would be best to first speak to your neighbors (the children’s parents) about your concerns. If that does not work, then you can ask the HOA to intervene. If the children are in violation of any rules, such as nuisance rules, the HOA should enforce penalties. Make sure to exhaust all forms of communication to reach out your HOA board or community manager. Attend board meetings, too, so you can inform the board about your issues.
