Question:
The landscapers were at my house last week. When I told them they weren’t finished blowing the debris out of my yard, he told me to F off and turned a blower in my face. This led to the owner of the company coming to my property. I told him I did not want this individual on my property again. A few days later I received a letter from the HOA board telling me I was solely responsible for my landscaping now. In my opinion, I would have thought they would have moved him to another crew or had someone else do my yard. Is it even legal, since I pay my dues that pay the landscaper, for them to not furnish landscaping at my house anymore?

Answer:
Hi Wanda,
Check your governing documents. Your HOA’s CC&Rs should outline the maintenance responsibilities of the association as well as your own maintenance responsibilities. This includes landscaping. If your HOA is responsible for the landscaping of all homeowners, then it can’t exclude you.
