Frequency of Meetings in Oklahoma HOA

Question:

How often are community meetings for homeowners to be held in an HOA/COA??? Where in the Oklahoma State statutes is this found? Will you please email us a link to that answer??

Answer:

Hi Leonard,

You should check your association’s governing documents, particularly your bylaws, for guidance on this matter. Your bylaws should be able to tell you how often you should hold meetings.

Typically, though, a membership meeting should take place annually. Board meetings take place more often than annual meetings, but the frequency depends on your bylaws.

The Oklahoma General Corporation Act does not specify how often an association or corporation must hold meetings. However, there are a few sections that cover meetings:

Neither Oklahoma’s Real Estate Development Act nor Oklahoma’s Unit Ownership Estate Act specify how often meetings must take place.
