Question:
Flying the American flag on a FLAGPOLE. My HOA stated it’s not within the tone of the neighborhood. This isn’t an answer. I’m a Disable US Army Veteran. This is very important to me.

Answer:
Hi Jose,
While the Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005 protects the right to fly the U.S. flag, homeowners associations in South Carolina can regulate how the flag is displayed. This includes flying the American flag on a flagpole. A new bill, however, has been proposed. If passed, Senate Bill 3537 would grant homeowners the right to display a portable or removable American flag on a flagpole in South Carolina HOAs. The bill is currently in the Senate.
