Question:
I am in an HOA in Oregon and they have mailed out the proxy and BOD info.
They have done this mailing and it is wasting alot of paper and time. Why can’t this become electronically driven as we do in private companies. Paper mailing has become antiquated

Answer:
Hi Rene,
Oregon law does allow for the electronic delivery of most written notices. However, you should check your association’s bylaws and CC&Rs to know if your specific HOA allows it as well. Most HOA governing documents require communication to be sent using specific types of methods such as traditional mail. As such, the board must comply. If you wish to switch to electronic methods, consider amending your governing documents.
